Woman Dies, Five Pleasant Grove High School Students Hospitalized after Sacramento County Crash on Eagles Nest Road near Jackson Highway
Sacramento County, California (January 22, 2020) – According to a local news source, a woman was killed and five Pleasant Grove High School students were injured Wednesday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Sacramento County.
The fatal head-on crash took place just before 7:30 a.m. on Eagles Nest Road near Kiefer Boulevard and north of Jackson Road.
As per the local news report, the woman was driving northbound on Eagles Nest Road when for undetermined reasons, her vehicle veered into the southbound lane, where it collided head-on with another car occupied by the students.
The woman, whose name has not been disclosed pending notification of family, died at the scene.
Two of the students suffered broken bones, one sustained internal injuries and the other two had minor injuries. One student was taken to Kaiser Hospital and the other four were transported to UC Davis.
Authorities closed Eagles Nest Road for several hours following the crash.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
