Driver Injured in San Diego Truck Accident at 10th Avenue and Market Street
San Diego, California (January 22, 2019) – A person was injured Wednesday afternoon in a traffic accident involving a semi-truck and an SUV in downtown San Diego’s East Village, authorities said.
The crash happened at around 3:50 p.m. at the intersection of 10th Avenue and Market Street.
According to the authorities, a big rig collided with a BMW X5 at the intersection for an unknown reason. The force of the impact caused the SUV to crash into a Starbucks Coffee shop at the southeast corner of 10th Avenue and Market Street.
The driver of the BMW X5 suffered minor injuries in the crash. The name and condition of the victim were not immediately disclosed.
No other injuries were reported.
Police blocked traffic in all directions at the intersection following the crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
