Fatal Corona Plane Crash at Corona Municipal Airport

Corona, California (January 22, 2020) – Four people were killed after a small plane crashed on Wednesday afternoon in Corona, police said.

The collision was reported at around 12:01 p.m. January 22, at the Corona Municipal Airport.

The Corona Fire Department and Corona Police said the pilot was having difficulties on takeoff. The plane initially went off the ground but failed to gain altitude before it bounced back onto the runway. The pilot attempted a second takeoff. However, the wingtips were wavering from side to side, and the nose was pitched up before it crashed.

Four people were killed in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
