Santa Rosa Man Killed in Fiery Crash at Tubbs Lane and Highway 128 in Calistoga

51-Year-Old Santa Rosa Man Dies, 1 Injured in Calistoga Car Accident at Tubbs Lane and Highway 128 Wednesday

Calistoga, California (September 12, 2019) – According to a local news report, one person was killed and another was hospitalized Wednesday night after a traffic accident in Calistoga.

The tragic crash occurred at around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 11 at the intersection of Tubbs Lane and Highway 128.

The California Highway Patrol said the driver of a van slammed into a tender water truck at the Calistoga intersection.

A witness told the CHP that he was following the van over a hill when the driver swerved across the road and crashed into the truck. The minivan burst into flames after the impact and the truck flipped over and its water tank got partially detached.

The bystander attempted to rescue the driver from the burning van. Despite rescue efforts, the driver, only identified as a 51-year-old Santa Rosa man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another person was taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries.

The names of the deceased and the injured victims have not yet been disclosed.

It is undetermined if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash. The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
