51-Year-Old Santa Rosa Man Dies, Misael Vasquez-Rodriguez Hospitalized after Calistoga Crash at Tubbs Lane and Highway 128 Wednesday
Calistoga, California (September 13, 2019) – Misael Vasquez-Rodriguez, 35, of Middletown, has been identified as the person who was seriously injured in a traffic accident that also left one person dead at an intersection in Calistoga Wednesday night.
The deadly wreck happened at around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 11 at the intersection of Tubbs Lane and Highway 128.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 51-year-old Santa Rosa man was driving a minivan westbound on Tubbs Lane when he ran a red light and collided with a large water transport truck operated by Vasquez-Rodriguez, who was heading northbound on Highway 128.
The driver of the minivan was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
Vasquez-Rodriguez suffered major injuries and was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
The roadway was shut down for three hours as authorities investigated the crash. It is undetermined if drugs or alcohol were factors in the accident.
The CHP is still investigating the cause of the accident.
