Felicitas Navarro Killed, Zulma Barrios Arrested after Solano Beach Car Accident on Interstate 5 near Manchester Avenue

Solano Beach, California (March 19, 2020) – Zulma Johana Barrios, 29, was arrested after a suspected DUI car accident that killed one person and injured several others on Saturday morning in Solano Beach, North County, according to authorities.

The accident happened at about 2:30 a.m., on March 14, on north Interstate 5 near Manchester Avenue.

The police said a black Toyota Scion, driven by Felicitas Navarro, 57, of Los Angeles, spun out of control and smashed into the center divider of Interstate 5. A male operating a white Toyota Corolla stopped to help the victims in the Scion.

A speeding Chevrolet Tahoe smashed into the two vehicles, according to the police.

Navarro was found unresponsive on the roadway by the emergency responders and was declared dead at the scene as a result of the accident.

Navarro’s two passengers sustained major injuries due to the crash. The Corolla driver also suffered severe injuries. They were all taken to a hospital for treatment

The driver of the Tahoe, Barrios, and her two female passengers, suffered significant injuries following the accident. They were also hospitalized for treatment.

The police arrested Barrios, who will face charges of vehicular manslaughter as well as driving under the influence of marijuana.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
