Woman Killed in Alleged DUI Crash on Orange Avenue in Sacramento

60-Year-Old Woman Killed, One Seriously Injured in Sacramento Crash on Orange Avenue near Stockton Boulevard

Sacramento, California (December 27, 2019) – A woman was killed and one other person was seriously injured in an alleged DUI crash in south Sacramento early Friday morning, a local news source reported.

The fatal wreck happened around midnight on Orange Avenue near Stockton Boulevard.

The California Highway Patrol said a 60-year-old man was pulling out of his driveway when for an undetermined reason, his car was struck by a truck.

The 63-year-old woman and a dog riding inside the car died in the crash. The driver sustained major injuries and was taken to a hospital.

The driver of the truck was identified as Eloy Tapia, 49, of Sacramento. Tapia was arrested on suspicion of DUI. He is facing charges of DUI causing major injury or death and vehicular manslaughter.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
