Worker Killed in Accident at Ganahl Lumber Company in Costa Mesa ID’d as Ricardo Castorena
Costa Mesa, California (December 27, 2019) – The Orange County coroner’s office has identified the worker who died after a large pile of wood fell on him while working at Ganahl Lumber Company in Costa Mesa as Ricardo Castorena, 28, of Santa Ana.
The fatal accident took place at about 9:30 p.m. Friday, December 20 at Ganahl Lumber Company on Bristol Street.
According to the authorities, a massive pile of wood weighing thousands of pounds fell and trapped Castorena against a forklift.
Castorena was declared dead at the scene by responding paramedics.
The accident remains under investigation by the California Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the accident.
