Woman Dies in Sacramento Pedestrian Accident near East Railroad Avenue and Napa Avenue

Sacramento, California (December 30, 2019) – A woman was struck and killed by a train Sunday night in Sacramento, authorities said.

The deadly pedestrian accident took place at about 7:35 p.m. Sunday, December 29, near the intersection of East Railroad Avenue and Napa Avenue.

According to the authorities, the woman was on the railroad tracks near the Sacramento intersection when for an unknown reason, she was hit by a train.

The woman sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.

No further details regarding the crash were immediately given.

The Union Pacific Railroad Police is investigating the accident.
