The deadly crash transpired at about 11:45 p.m., on May 2, on Highway 99 on-ramp near Ellington Street.

As per the police reports, a female pedestrian was, for unknown reasons, struck by a vehicle on the roadway.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

A person on foot is no match for a large, multi-ton vehicle. Pedestrians have virtually no protection when they are hit by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles. Sadly, this often leads to catastrophic injuries and/or death.
