Pedestrian Dies after Being Struck by Vehicle at West Lane and Knickerbocker Drive in Stockton

Pedestrian Killed in Stockton Crash at West Lane and Knickerbocker Drive

Stockton, California (May 4, 2020) – A pedestrian died after getting struck by a vehicle while crossing a street Saturday night in the Valley Oak district in Stockton, authorities said.

The pedestrian, only identified as a 47-year-old man, was crossing the intersection of West Lane and Knickerbocker Drive at about 9:45 p.m. May 2 when he was hit by a northbound vehicle.

The pedestrian was transported to a nearby hospital where he was declared deceased. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.

The involved driver remained at the scene and was cooperative, police said.

An investigation into the accident is underway.

A person on foot is no match for a large, multi-ton vehicle. Pedestrians have virtually no protection when they are hit by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles. Sadly, this often leads to catastrophic injuries and/or death.
