63-Year-Old Man Killed in Concord Pedestrian Accident at Willow Pass Road and Parkside Drive
Concord, California (December 14, 2019) – A pedestrian riding on a wheelchair died after being struck by a vehicle Friday night in Concord, authorities said.
The deadly pedestrian accident, which was reported at around 9:34 p.m. Friday, December 13, happened at the intersection of Willow Pass Road and Parkside Drive.
According to the authorities, the pedestrian was crossing the road outside of the crosswalk when he was hit by a vehicle that was heading eastbound on Willow Pass Road.
The pedestrian, only identified as a 63-year-old man, was taken to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the involved vehicle, a 31-year-old Antioch woman, was not injured and stopped at the scene.
Authorities said neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected factors in the crash.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
