Walter Manzke Hospitalized after Beverlywood Pedestrian Accident on Pico Boulevard near Beverly Drive

Beverlywood, California (February 26, 2020) – A pedestrian was struck and seriously injured by a vehicle last week Wednesday in Beverlywood, a local news source reported.

The pedestrian accident happened on Wednesday, February 19 in the 9500 block of Pico Boulevard near Beverly Drive.

Authorities said the pedestrian, identified as Walter Manzke, was struck by a vehicle while he was walking on Pico Boulevard.

Manzke, who owns the Hancock Park restaurant Republique, sustained major injuries and was taken to a local hospital where he underwent surgery.

The driver of the vehicle involved stopped at the scene and cooperated with the police.

An investigation into the crash is underway.

A person on foot is no match for a large, multi-ton vehicle. Pedestrians have virtually no protection they are hit by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles. Sadly, this often leads to catastrophic injuries and/or death.
