Person Dies in North Hollywood Train Accident near Sherman Way

North Hollywood, California (December 31, 2019) – An Amtrak train fatally hit a person on the tracks in North Hollywood Monday night.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department officials, the crash occurred near Sherman Way between Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Whitsett Avenue at about 7:53 p.m. on December 30.

Authorities said train 792 hit a person on the tracks for unknown reasons.

The pedestrian was killed in the crash. The victim’s gender and age were not immediately released.

The passengers and other crew on the train were uninjured in the crash.

An investigation to determine the cause of the accident is underway.
