Ruben Singh Injured in Oildale Car Accident on Chester Avenue

Ruben Singh ID’d as 1 of 3 Injured Victims in Oildale Multi-Vehicle Crash on Chester Avenue Near Roberts Lane

Oildale, California (January 21, 2020) – Authorities have identified one of the three people who were injured Monday in a multi-vehicle crash in Oildale as Ruben A. Arvizu Singh, 29.

The crash happened on Chester Avenue, just south of Roberts Lane Monday, January 20.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Singh was driving a 2012 Nissan northbound on Chester Avenue at an unspecified speed when he made an unsafe lane change and his Nissan collided with a 2011 Mazda that was also heading northbound.

The force of the impact caused Nissan to spin out of control and collided with a 2003 Honda that was stopped in the turn lane on North Chester Avenue. The Nissan then crossed over the center median and hit a southbound 2001 Chevrolet Silverado. That impact caused the engine of the Nissan to be ejected into a McDonald’s parking lot, where it hit another vehicle.

Singh was transported to Kern Medical Hospital with major injuries. The Honda and  Silverado drivers sustained minor injuries. The driver of the Silverado was also taken to Kern Medical Hospital.

The accident remains under investigation.
