HernRamon Hernandez Arrested in Crash on Highway 101 in San Mateo

Fatal Pedestrian Crash in San Mateo on Highway 101

San Mateo, California (January 21, 2020) – 32-year-old Ramon Hernandez of Redwood City was arrested following a fatal pedestrian crash on Sunday morning in San Mateo, police said.

The crash occurred at around 1:43 a.m. January 19, on Highway 101 near Highway 92 connector Road.

Hernandez was driving a Toyota Camry that struck a woman who was exiting a Toyota Yaris that was involved in an early crash with a Dodge Charger.

The woman, the driver of the Toyota Yaris, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

A passenger in Toyota Camry was also injured and taken to the hospital for treatment.

Hernandez and the unidentified driver of the Dodge were arrested following the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
