Philip Luckert Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Highway 108 in Keystone

Modesto Man Killed in Keystone Motorcycle Accident on Highway 108 Identified

Keystone, California – The motorcyclist who was killed in the Keystone accident on Highway 108 near Rushing Hill Lookout Road on Saturday has been identified by the authorities as Phillip Allen Luckert, 68, of Modesto.

Phillip was hit by a big rig and killed after he stopped his 1999 Harley Davidson on the shoulder of the highway to help another motorcyclist.

After assisting another motorcyclist he got back to his bike when he was hit by a 2012 Kenworth big rig while attempting to enter the eastbound lanes of Highway 108.

On September 5, just before noon on Saturday, the accident took place between Rushing Hill Lookout and Green Springs roads.

Phillip suffered fatal injuries and was declared dead at the accident scene.

However, the big rig driver, a 63-year-old Erik Roen of Knights Ferry was not injured.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident.
