Female Pedestrian Critically Injured in Bakersfield Accident at Columbus and Loyola Streets

Bakersfield, California (December 8, 2019) – A pedestrian was struck and seriously injured by a vehicle late Saturday night in Northeast Bakersfield, authorities said.

The pedestrian accident occurred just before midnight Saturday, December 7 at the intersection of Columbus and Loyola streets.

According to the authorities, the female pedestrian was hit by a vehicle at the Northeast Bakersfield intersection for an unknown reason.

The pedestrian sustained major injuries and was transported to a hospital where she was listed in critical condition. Her name has not been disclosed.

The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash stopped at the scene and cooperated with police. Authorities said neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected factors in the accident.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
