Man Killed in Oakdale Pedestrian Accident on Highway 120; Matthew Keith Arrested

Oakdale, California (February 11, 2020) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Monday evening in Oakdale, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred on Highway 120 shortly before 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 10.

The CHP said a man was on the east road edge when he was hit by a vehicle that was being driven northbound on Highway 120 by Matthew Keith, 28.

The man was taken to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. His name has not been released pending notification of family.

Keith did stop to render aid and fled the scene. At about 9:30 p.m., he called the CHP officers.

Keith was arrested and is now facing charges of DUI and hit-and-run.

The accident remains under investigation.
