Johnny Menchaca Dies after Being Struck by Vehicle on Beachmont Street in Ventura
Johnny Menchaca ID’d as Person Killed in Ventura Pedestrian Accident at Beachmont Street and East Harbor Boulevard
Ventura, California (February 11, 2020) – Johnny Menchaca, 37, has been identified as the pedestrian who died after being hit by a vehicle Sunday evening in Ventura, according to the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s office.
Police responded to the intersection of Beachmont Street and East Harbor Boulevard after a report of an accident at about 7:22 p.m., February 9.
Authorities said Menchaca was either in the crosswalk or walking in the street when a vehicle struck him.
Menchaca was pronounced dead at the scene.
The involved driver stopped and cooperated with the police.
An investigation into the accident is underway. Anyone with information about the collision is asked to call the Ventura Police Department Traffic Unit at 805-339-4451.
