Pedestrian Struck, Critically Injured by Light-Rail Train at Arden Way and Del Paso Boulevard in Sacramento

Person Seriously Injured in Sacramento Pedestrian Accident at Arden Way and Del Paso Boulevard

Sacramento, California (January 10, 2020) – A pedestrian was hit and seriously injured by a light-rail train Thursday evening in the area of Arden Way and Del Paso Boulevard in Sacramento, authorities said.

The accident happened at around 6:13 p.m. Thursday, January 9 at the intersection of Arden Way and Del Paso Boulevard.

According to the authorities, the pedestrian was struck by a Sacramento Regional Transit train at the intersection for an unknown reason.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and extricated the pedestrian who was pinned under the train. The patient was then taken to a nearby hospital with critical injuries.

The name and current condition of the victim were not immediately available.

The accident remains under investigation by SacRT.
