1 Killed in San Diego Pedestrian Accident on Jamacha Road near Glencoe Drive

San Diego, California (May 22, 2020) – According to the San Diego Police Department, a pedestrian accident that happened on Jamacha Road, near Glencoe Drive in San Diego Thursday night resulted in the death of a 28-year-old man.

The male pedestrian was walking eastbound in westbound lanes in the 8100 block of the highway when a BMW sedan hit him at approximately 11 p.m. May 21.

The sedan driver, a 21-year-old man, was reportedly traveling westbound on Jamacha Road at the time of the collision.

The pedestrian died at the hospital where he was admitted after the wreck.

The motorist tried to escape the scene, but police arrested him on suspicion of fleeing the fatal crash. The suspect was later released.

Neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected factors in the accident. An investigation into the crash is underway.
