Man Hit, Killed by Truck on Interstate 215 in San Bernardino

Man Killed in San Bernardino Pedestrian Accident on Interstate 215 near Little League Drive

San Bernardino, California (May 22, 2020) – A man was hit and killed by a truck on Wednesday morning in San Bernardino, police said.

The deadly crash transpired at about 5:38 a.m., on May 20, on Interstate 215, just south of Little League Drive.

The police said the man was crossing the roadway when he was hit by a white 2016 Freightliner motorhome, driven by Robert Farrell, 59, of Eugene, Oregon.

The truck was reportedly traveling northbound in the No. 2 lane of I-215 when it struck the pedestrian.

The pedestrian, only identified as a 29-year-old man, of San Bernardino, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was not disclosed.

The crash remains under investigation. Anyone with information about the collision is asked to contact the San Bernardino CHP Area office at (909) 383-4247.

A person on foot is no match for a large, multi-ton vehicle. Pedestrians have virtually no protection when they are hit by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles. Sadly, this often leads to catastrophic injuries and/or death.
