Salinas, California (May 7, 2020) – A pedestrian died after getting struck by a vehicle in the area of Espinosa and Christensen roads in Salinas Wednesday morning, authorities said.

According to the authorities, a Dodge Ram 4500 was driving on a dirt road at around 6:30 a.m. May 6, when the driver reversed into the pedestrian.

A person on foot is no match for a large, multi-ton vehicle. Pedestrians have virtually no protection when they are hit by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles. Sadly, this often leads to catastrophic injuries and/or death.
