Michael Dever Hit, Killed by Vehicle on 710 Freeway in Bell Gardens

Authorities Identify Man Killed in Bell Gardens Pedestrian Accident on 710 Freeway near Florence Avenue as Michael Dever

Bell Gardens, California (May 7, 2020) – Michael Dever, 39, has been identified as the man who died after being struck by a vehicle in the Bell Gardens area early Tuesday morning.

The fatal crash took place at about 2:10 a.m. Tuesday, May 5, on the southbound 710 Freeway, just south of Florence Avenue.

According to the report, a vehicle, driven by a 42-year-old Bell Gardens man, was traveling southbound in the number 2 lane at approximately 55 miles per hour when it struck Dever.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and found Dever down in the number 3 lane of the freeway.

Dever was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver of the vehicle involved stopped at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

Authorities closed three southbound lanes of the 710 Freeway following the crash.

Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the accident.

The accident remains under investigation. Anyone with information regarding the crash is asked to contact the CHP East Los Angeles Area office at 323-980-4600.
