Pedestrian Dies After Being Struck by Freight Train in Pomona
Man Killed in Pomona Pedestrian Accident near West First Street Wednesday morning
Pomona, California (February 5, 2019) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Union Pacific Railroad train in Pomona Wednesday morning, according to a local news source.
The deadly accident occurred just before noon east of the Metrolink Pomona-Downtown Station in the 100 block of West First Street.
The man died at the scene. His name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
Metrolink’s Riverside Line was closed between Industry and East Ontario for around two hours as a result of the crash. The tracks were reopened as of 2:00 p.m.
No further details about the crash were given.
The accident remains under investigation.
