Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit by Vehicle on Avenue T in Littlerock

59-Year-Old Palmdale Man Killed in Littlerock Pedestrian Accident on Avenue T near 94th Street

Littlerock, California (February 14, 2020) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Thursday morning in Littlerock, authorities said.

The deadly accident took place at around 1:40 a.m. Thursday, February 13 on Avenue T, just west of 94th Street East.

According to a California Highway Patrol report, Shilo Schopp was driving a 2014 Chevrolet eastbound on Avenue T when he struck a 59-year-old Palmdale man, who was walking eastbound on Avenue T within the eastbound traffic lane.

The unidentified man traveled through the windshield of the Chevrolet after the impact.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.

Schopp was transported to Palmdale Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.

Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash.

The CHP is investigating the accident.

A person on foot is no match for a large, multi-ton vehicle. Pedestrians have virtually no protection when they are hit by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles. Sadly, this often leads to catastrophic injuries and/or death.
