1 Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 5 in Redding
Man Killed in Redding Car Accident on Interstate 5 near Lake Boulevard
Redding, California (February 14, 2020) – A man was killed early Friday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Redding, according to a local news source.
The deadly accident took place just after 1:00 a.m. on Interstate 5, just north of Lake Boulevard.
A 2006 BMW sedan was rear-ended by a 2013 Honda Civic in the southbound lanes of the interstate, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol.
A 20-year-old man, who was the driver of the BMW, died at the scene of the crash. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of family.
The driver of the Honda Civic, identified as Jecenia Hedrick, 22, of Anderson, was transported to a hospital in serious condition. She was arrested for felony DUI and manslaughter.
Police closed southbound Interstate 5 for four hours following the crash.
The accident remains under investigation.
