Paul Padilla Injured in Fatal 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 14 in Kern County
Paul Padilla ID’d as 1 of 2 Victims Injured in Kern County Car Accident on Highway 14 near Robbers Roost
Kern County, California (December 8, 2019) – Authorities have identified Paul Padilla, 30, of Burbank, as one of the two people who were injured in a fatal crash that happened early Saturday morning in eastern Kern County.
The deadly accident was reported to the California Highway Patrol officers at about 2:04 a.m. Saturday, December 7 on Highway 14, just south of Robbers Roost.
According to the CHP, a 2015 Toyota Tacoma collided head-on with a Sheriff’s Chevrolet Tahoe patrol vehicle on southbound Highway 14.
The driver of the Tacoma, identified as Fernando Ramirez, 33, of Burbank, and his front-seat passenger, identified as Michael John Ferialdi, 33, also of Burbank, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
Padilla, who was a third occupant of the Tacoma, was able to get out of the car under his own power. He was taken to Antelope Valley Hospital with unspecified injuries.
The driver of the Sheriff’s vehicle sustained major injuries and was taken to Antelope Valley Hospital.
It remains unknown whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
