Pascual Reyes ID’d as Man Killed in San Martin Pedestrian Accident on Highway 101 near San Martin Avenue
San Martin, California (June 4, 2020) – Authorities have identified the man who died after being struck by a vehicle early Wednesday while walking across traffic lanes on Highway 101 in San Martin as Pascual Iboa Reyes, 66, of San Jose.
The fatal pedestrian accident happened at around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, on Highway 101, just south of San Martin Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Reyes had stopped his vehicle in the center median and was walking across the southbound lanes when he was struck by a 2012 Toyota Corolla that was heading southbound on Highway 101, driven by Thoy To Te Li.
Authorities said another vehicle had pulled over onto the right shoulder and Reyes was possibly walking towards that vehicle.
Reyes was pronounced dead at the scene.
Neither alcohol nor drugs were suspected factors in the accident.
