Ofelia Sanchez ID’d as Worker Killed in Colton Accident on E. Steel Road
Colton, California (January 12, 2020) – Authorities have identified the woman who was struck and killed by a skip loader while working at a recycling company last week Saturday in Colton as Ofelia Sanchez, 54, of Colton.
The incident happened at around 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 4 at CR&R Environmental Services, which is located at 2059 E. Steel Road.
Authorities said Sanchez was directing members of the public driving into CR&R Environmental Services to drop off recyclables and company vehicles when she was hit by the skip loader.
Sanchez died in the accident.
A GoFundMe page has been created to help cover Sanchez’s funeral expenses.
Cal/OSHA is investigating the accident.
