21-Year-Old Oak Park Man Dies Following Fatal Santa Barbara Pedestrian Accident on Highway 101 near Garden Street Off-Ramp
Santa Barbara, California (December 15, 2019) – According to a local news source, a pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle on Highway 101 in Santa Barbara early Friday morning.
The fatal crash took place at around 1:15 a.m. Friday, December 13 in the southbound lanes of Highway 101 near the Garden Street exit.
As per the local news source, a 21-year-old Oak Park man was in the right-hand lane of the highway when for an undetermined reason, he was struck by a big rig tractor driven by Charles C. Hudson, 56, of Loma Linda.
The man, whose name has not been released pending family notification, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hudson was not injured in the accident.
Authorities said the truck was not hauling a trailer when the accident occurred.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
