Mathew Glancy Injured in Ahwahnee Accident on Sunrise Drive and Highway 49

Mathew Glancy Hurt in Ahwahnee DUI Crash on Sunrise Drive and Highway 49

Ahwahnee, California (January 2, 2020) – One driver was hospitalized and another arrested on suspicion of DUI and hit-and-run after a traffic crash that occurred in Ahwahnee Wednesday morning.

According to the CHP, the crash happened at around 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 1, at Sunrise Drive and Highway 49.

27-year-old Diego Espinoza, of Fresno was operating a 2003 Toyota Corolla when he failed to stop at Sunrise Drive and was involved in a collision with a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Jeep overturned as a result of the accident.

The driver of the Jeep, 27-year-old Mathew Glancy, of Yosemite Village, was transported to Saint Agnes Medical Center in Fresno with moderate injuries.

Espinoza failed to stop at the scene and eventually crashed into an embankment. He was taken into custody and charged with DUI and hit-and-run.

The CHP is investigating the crash.
