Juan Rangel Struck and Killed by Vehicle on 91 Freeway near Wilmington Avenue in Compton 

Juan Rangel ID’d Man Killed in Compton Pedestrian Crash on 91 Freeway near Wilmington Avenue

Compton, California (January 2, 2020) – Police officers have identified the pedestrian killed in pedestrian crash on Wednesday morning in Compton, as Juan Munoz Rangel, 53, of South Gate, as per a police report.

The crash was reported at around 5:30 a.m. January 1, on the interstate 91 Freeway near Wilmington Avenue.

According to the reports, Rangel was walking northbound across the westbound lanes of the Freeway when a 2006 Honda was traveling at a relatively high rate of speed when it struck him.

Rengel was severely injured and pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

No other details of the crash were immediately released.

The investigation into the crash is still underway.
