Woman Dies in Huntington Beach Car Crash on Gothard Street
Huntington Beach, California (January 2, 2020) – A woman was killed in a suspected DUI collision on Wednesday night in Huntington Beach, according to the authorities.
The crash took place at around 9:25 p.m. January 1, on Gothard Street near Cedar Avenue.
Authorities said a 17-year-old Westminster boy was driving a 2013 Nissan Rogue northbound in the southbound lanes of Gothard Street when he collided head-on with an oncoming 2016 Kia Soul.
A 61-year-old Huntington Beach woman riding in the back seat of the Soul was rushed to UCI Medical Center in Orange, where she was pronounced deceased.
The driver and another passenger in the Soul complained of pain.
The driver of the Nissan suffered minor injuries. He was also determined to have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
The incident remained under investigation.
