Mathew Glancy Injured, Diego Espinoza Arrested after DUI Crash on Sunrise Drive and Highway 49 in Ahwahnee

Mathew Glancy Hospitalized after Ahwahnee Crash on Sunrise Drive and Highway 49

Ahwahnee, California (January 2, 2020) – 27-year-old Mathew Glancy of Yosemite Village was injured in a vehicle accident on Wednesday morning in Ahwahnee, Diego Espinoza, 27, of Fresno, arrested, police said.

The collision was reported at around 10:00 a.m January 1, on Sunrise Drive and Highway 49.

Authorities said a 2003 Toyota Corolla, driven by Espinoza, was westbound on sunrise Drive when he failed to stop and collided with a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by Grancy.

Glancy was injured and taken to Saint Agnes Medical Center in Fresno for treatment of moderate injuries.

Espinoza fled the scene of the crash before crashing down a dirt embankment. He was later arrested on suspicion of DUI and Hit-and-run.

The crash is still under investigation.
