61-Year-Old Woman Killed in Vehicle Crash on Gothard Street near Cedar Avenue in Huntington Beach

Woman Killed, 17-Year-Old Driver Arrested after Huntington Beach on Gothard Street near Cedar Avenue

 Huntington Beach, California (January 2, 2020) – A 61-year-old woman was killed in a wrong-way crash on Wednesday night in Huntington Beach, according to a police report.

The collision took place at around 9:25 p.m. January 1, on Gothard Street near Cedar Avenue.

Huntington Beach Police said a 2013 Nissan Rogue, driven by a 17-year-old boy, from Westminster, was traveling northbound when it hit a 2016 Soul. 

The Huntington Beach woman, a passenger in the back seat of Soul, was severely injured and taken to UIC Medical Center when she succumbed to the injuries.

The teen driver sustained minor injuries, and the driver of the Soul and the front-seat passenger complained of pain.

The teen driver was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI causing injury and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
