Marco Garcia Killed, Jonathan Lopez Arrested in Bakersfield Pedestrian Crash on Edison Highway near Mount Vernon
Bakersfield, California (February 25, 2020) – Police officer have arrested 25-year-old Jonathan Lopez after a fatal hit-and-run crash that took place on Sunday, February 23, at about 12:35 a.m. in Bakersfield, according to Kern County Sheriff’s Office.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the crash o Edison Highway, east of the Mount Vernon overpass.
Police said 34-year-old Marco Antonio Garcia was walking on the highway when Lopez struck him.
Garcia was sadly pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
Lopez was later found and arrested for DUI and felony hit and run.
The crash remains under investigation.
