12-Year-Old Girl Killed in Castro Valley Hit-and-Run that Happened Monday Afternoon

Police Search for Truck Driver who Fled after Hitting and Killing Girl at Crow Canyon and Manter Roads

Castro Valley, California (February 25, 2020) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a Castro Valley pedestrian accident that killed a 12-year-old girl Monday afternoon.

CHP officials said they are looking for the driver of the pickup truck involved in the crash who fled the scene.

The incident occurred at about 3:25 p.m. at the intersection of Crow Canyon and Manter roads.

As per the report, the girl was walking with her sister when she was hit by a black Ford F-150.

The girl was rushed to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital in Oakland, where she was later pronounced dead.

The suspect driver was described as a 25- to 35-year-old white or Latino man. The pickup truck was last seen heading toward 580 Freeway.

Authorities closed Crow Canyon Road between Crow Canyon Place and Beacon Hill Drive as they investigated.
