Woman Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Baseline Street and Wall Avenue in San Bernardino ID’d as Dorothy Velarde
San Bernardino, California (January 24, 2020) – The San Bernardino Police Department has released the name of a San Bernardino woman who was struck and killed by a vehicle in San Bernardino on Wednesday evening.
The fatal pedestrian accident happened just before 5:45 p.m. near the area of Baseline Street and Wall Avenue on January 22.
The accident began when 65-year-old Dorothy Velarde was standing in the center median of Baseline Street. At the same time, a gray Infiniti was traveling west on the same street. Velarde then walked into the highway and was struck by the Infiniti.
Velarde was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.
Neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected factors in the accident. An investigation into the crash is underway.
