Victim Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Highway 99 and Mack Road ID’d as David McKenzie

Sacramento, California (December 28, 2019) – The California Highway Patrol has identified the victim who was struck and killed by a vehicle on Sunday evening in Sacramento as 39-year-old David McKenzie.

The pedestrian collision, which happened at about 6:17 p.m. December 22, occurred on Highway 99 near Mack Road.

Police said McKenzie was standing on the southbound side of the freeway before he stepped into the traffic and hit by an oncoming vehicle.

McKenzie reportedly suffered fatal injuries following the accident.

More details regarding the fatal crash will be released immediately after the CHP completes the investigation.
