1 Killed, 2 Critically Hurt in Big Rig Accident on Highway 138 and North 90th Street in Lancaster

Lancaster, California (December 28, 2019) – Authorities are investigating the cause of a traffic collision that resulted in the death of one person in Lancaster on Thursday afternoon.

The fatal accident involving a big rig truck happened at about 4:30 p.m. December 26, on Highway 138 at North 90th Street West in the unincorporated community of Antelope Acres.

A big rig collided with another vehicle on the roadway for undisclosed reasons. 

The Los Angeles County Fire Department said one person was trapped in one of the vehicles involved upon the impact.

One victim was confirmed dead at the scene.

A second person suffered major injuries as a result of the collision. The trapped victim was extricated from the wreckage and then rushed to a trauma center along with the other patient for treatment.

Highway 138 was closed down in both directions for an unknown time.

The accident remains under an active investigation.
