David Kim Jr Fatal Long Beach Crash on 91 Freeway

Long Beach, California (January 23, 2020) – 21-year-old David Kim Jr, of Los Angeles, was struck and killed in an accident involving multiple vehicle son Tuesday night in Long Beach, according to a police report.

The crash was reported at around 10:45 p.m. January 21, on the westbound Artesia (91)Freeway, west of Cherry Avenue.

The California Highway Patrol said Kim was driving a 1998 Honda CR-V that was involved in an earlier crash.

Kim exited his car, but he was instructed to move his vehicle to the right shoulder. Kim was returning to his vehicle when two cars struck his vehicle. The impact of the collision cause Kim’s vehicle to hit him.

Kim was severely injured and taken to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.  

The drive of one of the vehicles that struck Kim’s car was injured and taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

A total of six vehicles were involved in the crash.

All the drivers involve din the crash remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.

The crash remains under investigation.
