Caylob Pelayo Critically Injured in Motorcycle Accident on Rosedale Highway near Jenkins Road in Bakersfield

Caylob Pelayo Severely Hurt in Bakersfield Motorcycle Crash on Rosedale Highway near Jenkins Road

Bakersfield, California (January 4, 2020) – 19-year-old Caylob Pelayo has been identified as the rider severely injured after a motorcycle crash Thursday night in Bakersfield, according to authorities.

The major collision was logged at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday, January 2, on Rosedale Highway near Jenkins Road.

As per the CHP officials, 72-year-old Jeffrey Harmer was driving a Honda when he attempted to make a turn into Rosedale Village Trailer Park and crashed into a motorbike operated by Pelayo who had his helmet on.

Pelayo suffered severe injuries and was taken to Kern Medical for treatment.

Harmer was transported to the hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

Officials did not suspect drugs or alcohol to have played a role in the collision.

The incident remains under investigation.
