Carmichael Pedestrian Crash at Winding Way and Hackberry Lane Injured Elderly Woman

Elderly Woman Struck and Injured by Vehicle at Winding Way and Hackberry Lane

Carmichael, California (March 16, 2020) – A female party was struck and injured by a vehicle on Friday morning in Carmichael, the California Highway Patrol reported.

According to a local news source, the elderly woman was hit by a white Ford Expedition at the intersection of Winding Way and Hackberry Lane at approximately 6:00 a.m.

The circumstances that lead to the collision near Windmill Lane and Live Oak Street were not disclosed at the time of the report.

The Ford operator stopped after hitting the woman and cooperated with the investigation.

The unidentified pedestrian sustained unspecified injuries in the wreck. The victim was attended to by paramedics along with the Sacramento Fire Department officials who responded to the scene shortly after the mishap.

It was not clear whether or not the elderly woman was taken to the hospital for further treatment.

The investigation is underway.

A person on foot is no match for a large, multi-ton vehicle. Pedestrians have virtually no protection when they are hit by cars, motorcycles, trucks, and other vehicles. Sadly, this often leads to catastrophic injuries and/or death.
