At Least 2 Injured in 3-Vehicle Accident on State Route 163 in San Diego
Minor Injuries Reported in San Diego Truck Crash on State Route 163 near Kearny Mesa
San Diego, California (February 7, 2020) – At least two drivers were injured after a multi-vehicle crash on Thursday morning in San Diego, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash happened at about 5:00 a.m., February 6, on southbound on state Route 163, near the interchange with state Route 52.
The police said a semi-truck carrying a load which appeared to be part of a home was stopped on the right shoulder when a pickup truck hit it. The pickup truck was severely damaged and it came to a rest on its side in the middle lanes.
A gray sedan was damaged in the crash. It was unclear if the sedan was hit by the pickup before the pickup slammed into the big rig.
The drivers involved in the crash sustained minor injuries.
The accident delayed traffic in the area. The roadway was cleared at about 6:30 a.m.
The crash remains under investigation.
