Woman, Girl, 5, Hospitalized After Pedestrian Crash at Earl and Emerald Streets in Torrance
Torrance, California (January 14, 2020) – Two victims were hurt in a pedestrian collision that took place in the area of Torrance at about 8:40 a.m. on Tuesday morning, according to the Torrance Police Department.
The pedestrian accident happened at the intersection of Earl and Emerald streets.
As per the report, a 5-year-old girl and a female party were struck by a 2017 Toyota Rav4 driven by 45-year-old Carson woman while crossing the Emerald Street.
The initial report indicated that the Toyota, which was traveling southbound on Earl Street, was making a left-hand turn onto Emerald Street at the time of the collision.
The female party sustained major injuries while the kid suffered moderate undisclosed injuries in the crash.
The involved female motorist stopped after hitting the pedestrians and cooperated with the law.
The accident resulted in the closure of a section of Emerald Street between Earl Street and Mansel Avenue as police conducted the investigation.
Neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected factors in the accident. An investigation into the crash is underway.
