1 Dies, 6 Hurt in Arvin Car Accident at South Fairfax Road and Bear Mountain Boulevard
Arvin, California (April 21, 2020) – One person was killed and six others were injured in a two-vehicle accident on Tuesday morning in Arvin.
The deadly crash transpired at around 5:41 a.m. near the corner of South Fairfax Road and Bear Mountain Boulevard.
The police said a Dodge Caliber was traveling southbound on Fairfax Road when it made a direct left turn in front of a Chevy Suburban that was traveling westbound on Bear Mountain Boulevard.
The SUV reportedly tried to avoid hitting the Dodge, but they collided. The SUV flipped over and came to rest on its tires due to the impact.
A passenger in the SUV who was not wearing a seatbelt was ejected onto the roadway.
The ejected party was pronounced dead at the scene.
Six other parties were injured. Five of the six patients were taken to a hospital following the accident.
Intoxication was not a factor in the crash.
The roadway was closed for an undisclosed time due to the accident.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
