One Killed, Four Injured in Menifee Car Accident on Railroad Canyon Road at Newport Road
Menifee, California (January 25, 2020) – One person was killed and four other people were injured Friday night in a traffic accident involving several vehicles in Menifee, according to a local news source.
The deadly crash happened at around 9:55 p.m. Friday, January 24 at the intersection of Railroad Canyon Road and Newport Road.
Authorities said multiple vehicles collided at the Menifee intersection for reasons still under investigation.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and declared one person dead at the scene. Two people were trapped in the wrecked vehicles and had to be extricated by firefighters.
The two freed victims and two other people were transported to a hospital with moderate injuries.
The names of the deceased and injured victims have not been released.
All lanes of the road were closed as the investigation and clean up took place.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the accident.
