Rosa Garcia ID’d as Woman Killed in Echo Park Car Crash on Sunset Boulevard near Douglas Street

Echo Park, California (January 26, 2020) – The woman who died Thursday morning in a hit-and-run crash in Echo Park has been identified as Rosa Garcia, 61, of Los Angeles.

The deadly accident happened at about 7:45 a.m. Thursday, January 23 in the area of Sunset Boulevard near Douglas Street.

According to officials, a 2019 BMW M4 was traveling westbound on Sunset Boulevard when for an unknown reason, it veered into the path of oncoming traffic and collided with a 2004 Toyota Corolla that was heading eastbound, driven by Garcia.

Garcia was rushed to a hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The driver of the BMW, identified as Ilya Foks, 39, did not stop to render aid and fled the scene on foot. Police are still searching for Foks.
